Pop Tabs Program

 

“Pull for the Ronald McDonald House”
2011-2012 School Contest

Your school is invited to join us by saving pop tabs from aluminum cans. On Tuesday, April 10, 2012 bring your tabs to one of the six recycling centers listed below:

Pop Tabs from each school will be weighed and the number of pounds collected will be translated into dollars and donated to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Florida.

All participating schools will be eligible to win a $500 gift card to purchase school supplies as well as a winning school trophy! Central Florida counties included in the contest are: Brevard, Orange, Seminole, Lake, Osceola, Volusia, Flagler, Marion, and Sumter. One winning school will be designated from each of these counties.

On the Monday after Earth Day - April 23, 2012 – WKMG-TV/LOCAL 6 will broadcast LIVE from one of the winning schools. The other winning schools will receive their prize before the end of the school year.

  • Volusia County: Timbercrest Elementary School – Deltona, Fl – 719 lbs.
  • Orange County: Audubon Park Elementary School – Orlando, FL – 318 lbs.
  • Flagler County: Belle Terre Elementary School – Palm Coast, FL – 328 lbs.
  • Marion County: Howard Middle School – Ocala, FL – 221 lbs.
  • Sumter County: Lake Panasoffkee Elementary - Lake Panasoffkee, FL – 310 lbs.

If you are not a school, but would like to collect pop tabs you can drop them off at either Ronald McDonald House location 7 days a week between the hours of 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. We also encourage you to team up with your local elementary school to help them raise more tabs!
