Family Stories
"Thank God for the Ronald McDonald House in Orlando! I went to the Ormond Beach Hospital expecting to spend one night and drive back home to Palm Coast. An hour later I was driving to Orlando to catch up with my son who was air lifted to Winnie Palmer Hospital. I had literally nothing with me but my wallet with about $20 in it. That afternoon a wonderful social worker gave me the phone number to the Ronald McDonald House. They took me right in and not only gave me a place to sleep, but also food, a toothbrush, toothpaste, let me borrow a computer to email my family, and a shoulder to cry on. My wife and I are not rich and I wouldn't have been able to see my son more than a few hours a week if it wouldn't have been for the Ronald McDonald House. I will be forever grateful to them."

"Our son Clayton Lee Taylor was born two-and-a-half months premature. After birth he was transferred to Florida Hospital in Orlando, which is an hour-and-a-half from our home. At first we were terrified that the newest member of our family was going to be so far away, until we learned about Ronald McDonald House. Our stay at the Ronald McDonald House has been a wonderful experience. We are minutes away from our son, yet it seems like we are at home. We thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts who have made it possible for our stay at Ronald McDonald House and for keeping our family together. Thank you."

"Our family had to relocate to Orlando when we had a premature baby in the 25th week of pregnancy. The doctors told us that we would not be able to take our son home for at least a couple of months. This situation provided us with a great deal of uncertainty, not the least of which was where to stay. When we heard that we could stay at the Ronald McDonald House we were filled with a sense of hope that we would be able to care for our new baby. What we didn’t know at the time was just how accommodating the staff at the McDonald house would be. Far from being just a place to sleep the House has become our home-away-from-home, and this is in no small part due to the kindness of the people who work here. The Ronald McDonald House is truly a God send. And we thank God for the people who work here and for the people who make the Ronald McDonald house a reality."

"For years, our daughter collected pop tabs through her school for the Ronald McDonald House in Indiana. We never would have thought that these services would become such a big part of our lives. Our family was on vacation for spring break in Orlando and my wife went into labor very early with our twins. The Ronald McDonald House was a blessing for us during a very chaotic time. The House became our home and the staff was like our family. We are truly grateful.”

"We could never have gotten through this without you—we are 5,000 miles from our home in London but you have made us feel a part of a family and for that we thank you from the bottom of our hearts."

"I want to thank the staff and volunteers at the Ronald McDonald House for making the past week of my life a little easier. My daughter was in a car accident and suffered severe trauma to her brain and had emergency brain surgery. Through a lot of sleepless and worried nights in the room, it was nice to have some private space to do that in. Thank God for organizations that help parents during trying times."
Thank you so much,
Elizabeth

"The stay at the Ronald McDonald House for my family and I was very pleasant. The provisions made for us were superb! Thank you so very much! You come with high recommendations from others and now even higher from our family. In crisis and/or trauma, this is the place to be. Our prayers will forever be with you!"

"Thank you so much for providing a wonderful place for us to stay while Kimberly was having chemo. I know you see a lot of people come and go on a daily basis, but I guarantee that your work is not commonplace to those of us in need. We felt safe and comfortable—two blessings when you're in the middle of dealing with an illness as serious as brain tumors."
God bless you,
Charles & Kathy
