Who Stays at Ronald McDonald House?
The Ronald McDonald Houses of Orlando provide a warm, safe, comfortable place to stay for families of critically injured and seriously or chronically ill children who are hospitalized or receiving treatment from:
- Arnold Palmer Medical Center
- Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children
- Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies
- Florida Hospital for Children
- Florida Children's Hospital
- Florida Hospital Cancer Institute
- Nemours Children's Clinic
- Complete Wellness & Hyperbaric Center of Winter Park
- Conductive Education Center of Florida
- Other Pediatric Facilities
Eligibility
- The family's child must be 20 years or younger.
- The child patient must be receiving medical care at an Orlando area hospital or medical center.
- A referral form signed by the physician primarily responsible for the child's care must be sent to the Ronald McDonald House where a room is being requested. Please see the Referral Process section below for more information.
Referral Process
Doctor's offices, social workers, and/or nurses are required to complete a Ronald McDonald House Referral Form to establish a guest's eligibility. The Referral Form requests information relating to:
- Guest information (who will be staying at the House)
- Anticipated length of stay
- Patient information (the treatment facility, unit, room number, and medical situation)
- Contact information for the referring physician
